Choose a server before the shift, not during it

Standard servers are the small public ones. Realism and the 100-player Community Server unlock at level 10, and joining teleports you.

Server choice changes the traffic, the rules and the lag. It does not change the route list. Shifts, Free Drive and Daily Challenges exist in every server type. The level 10 gate is on entering the large servers, not on the activities inside them.

Join from the menu before you spawn. Selecting a server teleports you, so finish or abandon the current duty first.

Three public choices

Type Who can enter What changes
Standard From the start The normal game. The Roblox listing shows a server size of 12. Community pages describe standard servers as about 14.
Public Realism Level 10 Traffic laws, vote kick, an XP boost, collisions on. The August 2025 group announcement called this a 50-player server. Later community pages say the cap is 75. Read the browser before you commit to a long duty.
Community Server Level 10, or a friend's server from the Roblox homepage at any level Up to 100 drivers. The loading screen says Sunshine Islands 100P. Heavier traffic, group runs, roleplay, and a higher chance of lag or a disconnect.

The official game page also suggests a free private server for a smoother session. That is the right pick for a first route or a recording.

Realism rules that actually get you removed

Anyone can host a Public Realism server. The host name is hidden on the server list, and the rules appear before the teleport.

  • Obey signals, signs and the traffic laws.
  • Do not block the road. Hazards go on if you stop away from a stand or go AFK.
  • Wait your turn while other buses load and unload.
  • Collision is on, but impacts are not supposed to push or flip other vehicles.
  • Vote kick can remove someone who is driving erratically or blocking the lane.
  • An XP boost applies. The amount is not the same on every realism server. Read it before a long session.

Community Servers

These went live on 24 August 2025 at 14:00 UTC. The developer's video the day before, and the Roblox group post by addisonshiu, describe the same release. The group post separates two ideas:

  • Realism: follow the rules, wait behind boarding buses, collision on, pushing disabled.
  • Community: your own theme, hosted shifts, roleplay, races, free kick and ban tools, and a toggle that allows buses to push each other.

A lag-reduction pass in late April 2026 rebuilt several Central buildings and cut the part count (V3851, 29 April 2026). Large servers can still stutter. Leave more gap than the 7 metre door prompt suggests, because the prompt and the bus ahead of you are not the same problem.

You can join a friend's Community Server from the Roblox homepage even below level 10. Hosting and the in-game Big Server button still expect level 10.

Which one to open

You want Open
A first route, footage, or a low-end device Standard, or a private server
The busiest road and group runs Community Server, after level 10
Enforced driving and an XP boost Public Realism
The least interference A free private server, as the game page suggests

Report tools inside Community Servers are limited. The community notes say most reports go through the official Discord or social posts rather than an in-game ticket. Vote kick on a realism server is faster than an argument in the road.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Sunshine Islands Bus Simulator free?

Yes. The Roblox listing is free and says the experience runs on PC, mobile and console. The same page suggests a free private server when you want a quieter session.

Which route should a new driver take?

Start with a two-digit local such as 41A, 42, 46, 47 or 75. Those stay inside one zone. Leave three-digit bridge and tunnel routes, night services and Sunshard specials until the stop loop is reliable.

How do the route numbers work?

Two digits stay in one zone, and the first digit is usually that zone. Zone 1 is the exception: Dove Island services are numbered 2x, so 21 and 25 are not Zone 2. Three digits cross zones. A letter in front or behind changes the kind of service.

What are Sunshards for?

Sunshards are the Version 2 currency for special work such as sightseeing routes S1 and S2, special U47 departures and Sunshine Stadium extras. Ordinary progression, most routes and most buses are earned by driving.

Are there redeem codes?

No code string has been confirmed for this place, and the game page does not describe a code box. Public code roundups also report that there is nothing to redeem. Rewards come from finished shifts, daily tasks and daily challenges.

What unlocks at level 10?

Daily Challenges, Public Realism servers and Community Servers. Rare bus appearances also start through those challenges. A friend can still invite you into a Community Server from the Roblox homepage before you reach level 10.

Why did a finished shift pay nothing?

Skipping a scheduled stop removes the experience and Sunshard payout. Holding the parking brake while the bus is already rolling is treated as harsh braking. At the CSB Depot rooftop and the Forever Transit depot the door prompt only appears at about 3 to 4 metres, not the usual 7.
